Catholic Life
We endeavour to give everyone in our school community the opportunity to give witness to the teachings of Jesus. Putting our faith into action is very important to us and we serve others through numerous acts of charity.
Our Pupil Chaplains run our annual Bake Sale for MacMillan Cancer Support every September.
We hold ‘The Barlow Big Sleep Out’ in October, as part of the Salford diocesan Caritas Big Sleep Out. This is to raise money for the homeless in our city.
The Antibullying Ambassadors raise money for ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ in October.
During our Advent Mission, we work together to collect food items to create hampers for our families, our local parishes and Cornerstone.
As part of our Lenten Mission, we raise money for Francis House, our local children’s hospice, by selling Easter Chicks and, in 2024, for the first time, we will be taking part in a whole school sponsored walk to raise money for Caritas Salford’s St Joseph's Penny and for CAFOD, remembering our responsibility to be both local and global citizens.
During our Summer Mission, we have our ‘£10 Challenge’ where every Family Group receives £10 and has to use it to raise as much money as they can. The money raised is donated to charities chosen by our pupils, for causes close to their hearts.
All staff and pupils are encouraged to ‘live life to the full’ and walk together in our journey of faith with Christ. We want pupils and staff to work together, care, respect and celebrate all individuals in our school community and the society around us.
