For both boys and girls who take part in core PE football and after school football we suggest all pupils wear shin pads for their own protection.

The FA stipulate that for competitive matches shin pads must be worn. Correct footwear needs to be worn during lessons as well- Football boots when playing on the grass Astro Turf trainers/ boots when playing on the Astro Turf. No school shoes should be worn for PE lessons as they are unsuitable and lack grip.

When playing Rugby we suggest a mouth guard will protect gums and teeth. Mouth guards vary in price but usually can be purchased for about £5. We have very few injuries in lessons and feel the extra importance placed up on protective equipment is vital in maintaining these high standards.

Students who attend after school football and rugby clubs, may wear any appropriate football/ rugby kit thus keeping their PE kit fresh for lessons and not having to constantly be washing it.
