The Barlow offers our huge congratulations to all students on their amazing 2021 GCSE examination results
The Barlow is delighted to report some outstanding achievements by our students in their GCSEs and other qualifications this summer.
For example, a number of our students secured the top grades of 9 and 8 in a full complement of subjects. Particular congratulations to Niamh 11S3 who secured the highest grades in all subjects. Also, to Davide 11S3 and Seth 11 Mu1 who achieved similarly highly grades across the full suite of subjects. This is a truly remarkable achievement and is a testament to their dedication and commitment. There are also a significant number of students who have made exceptional progress in their five years at The Barlow, these include: Manuela 11S2, Naqib 11E3, Kathleen 11S2, Calvin 11E3 and Thomas 11E4. Their achievements are particularly impressive given the difficult context that students have faced over the last 18 months.
This year, following the cancellation of external examinations, grades were awarded through a process of teacher assessed grades, against a national standard and approved and awarded by the examination boards. The government is not publishing performance data for any schools or colleges this year due to the varying impact of the pandemic.
Ms Wallace, Headteacher, commented: “We are exceptionally proud of all the work and achievements of our students, especially after such a challenging and disrupted year. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to ensure students are all able to progress onto further education and study, and we look forward to seeing what they will achieve in the future.”
