Letter from the headteacher – UPDATE 30/03/20

Dear Parents/Carers

We hope that you and your families are well at this challenging time.

As we go into our second week of lockdown, I must remind you that as per Government instruction, this school remains closed to all students except for two groups that can potentially be allowed into school – BUT ONLY WHEN THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE:

  • Children identified as vulnerable
  • Children of “Critical workers”

There is no requirement for parents to send their child into school if they do not wish to at this time, the LA will not be issuing penalty notices – advice from the government remains the same:

“EVERY CHILD THAT CAN BE SAFELY CARED FOR AT HOME, SHOULD BE”

Teachers are continuing to set work each day for students using our online learning platform SENECA.

We would ask all Parents/Carers/Students to keep up-to-date with the ever changing situation, by viewing our school website on a daily basis.

Yours sincerely

Mrs CP McCarron

Headteacher

The Manchester City Council free school meal provision went live yesterday.  The initial link to the application form, sent out by them, was faulty and so a new ‘link’ has been set up. FSM – link

We are including detailed guidance for parents today, to ensure that you can successfully navigate this application:

How to Support Home Learning
We have included some guidance today for parents who potentially could have children at home for a prolonged period.  We hope you find it useful:

The school will endeavour to operate a SOCIAL DISTANCING POLICY in school – where children will be asked to remain at least 2 metres away from each other throughout the day, as per Government guidelines, to protect students and staff. We will be explaining the purpose of this to students and would ask that parents of children attending school, support this.

We are aware that this will be a new and difficult time for everyone – to support parents, we have placed a number of useful resources / information documents on our school website:

Parents, please be advised as per NHS advice, the virus can survive for a shor6 time on surfaces and clothes. We would advise that as children return home from school, to prevent any potential spread of the virus, that their clothes should be removed and washed immediately.
